Erich K. Rehm, 94
Erich
K. Rehm, 94, of West Bend, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 18, 2011, at
Cedar Lake Health and Rehabilitation Center in West Bend.
He was born on Sept. 27, 1916, in Pforzheim, Germany to the late Ernst and
Anna (nee Doll) Rehm. Erich served in the German Army during WWII on the
Russian front.
On May 30, 1942, he was united in marriage to Gretel Bauer in Esslingen,
Germany.
In 1951, they came to the United States, settling in the Milwaukee area.
Erich owned and operated Rehm Electric Service in Wauwatosa, retiring in
1981. From 1982 to 1996 he and Gretel lived in Mercer, and in 1996, they
moved to Hartford.
He was a member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Cedar Lake.
Erich enjoyed fishing, playing sheepshead and pinochle.
Erich is survived by his wife, Gretel of West Bend; two children, Bernd
"Erich" (Diane) Rehm of West Bend, and Ursula (Jon) Lanam of
Spokane, Wash.; three grandchildren, Eric (Jennifer) Lanam, Stephanie
Lanam and Matthew (Amy) Rehm; six great-grandchildren,
Justin, Callie, Jack and Katie Lanam and Cadie and Sean Rehm; three
sisters, Gretel Maissenbacher of Pforzheim, Germany, Geisela Feierbacher
of Pforzheim, Germany and Theresa (Henry) Long of Anchor-age, Alaska;
brother, Albert Rehm of Pforzheim Germany; brother-in-law, Herbert (Lore)
Bauer of Esslingen, Germany; other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ralph and sister, Erna.
A private family memorial service in remembrance of Erich will be held
with Rev. Paul Reede officiating. Inurnment will take place in Pleasant
Hill Cemetery, Hartford.
