Russell J. Wagenknecht, 74

Russell J. Wagenknecht, 74, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 18, 2011, at Froedtert Memorial Lutheran Hospital.

He was born on Aug. 2, 1937, in Germantown to Roland and Marie (nee Hornig). Russ was a factory metal worker at Stolper-Fabralloy Industries for more than 35 years. He married Barbara (nee Flint) on Aug. 27, 1960. He was a past member of Jackson Moonlighter’s Snowmobile Club and served as treasurer for several years. He loved his ponies, hunting, fishing, antique tractors, snowmobiling and spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his sons, Rick and Wade; mother, Marie Wagenknecht; brother, Jerold (Jean) Wagenknecht; sisters, Mary Flint and Cyndee (Earl) Howard; sister-in-law, Bonnie Wendelborn; aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Barbara; father, Roland Wagenknecht; parents-in-law, Paul and Elva Flint; brother, Wayne Wagenknecht; brothers-in-law, Jack Flint and Ron Wendelborn; and two nephews, David and Jeffrey.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2011, at 6 p.m. at the Phillip Funeral Home Chapel, 1420 W. Paradise Drive, West Bend) with Pastor Jack Freiheit presiding.

Visitation will be Aug. 24 from 4 p.m. until the time of service at 6 p.m., also at the funeral home.

Interment will be at Washington County Memorial Park.
