Arnold D. Kessel, 91
Arnold Kessel, age 91, of Madison, formerly
of town of Fredonia, passed away Sunday, Aug. 21, 2011, at Oak Park Place
in Madison.
He was born Oct. 2, 1919, in Richfield, Wis., son of the late
Jacob and Emma Blum Kessel.
Arnold grew up on the family farm in Richfield. He moved to Cedarburg and
started Kessel Radio and TV Repair and owned and operated his own milk
route. He then worked as an inspector at American Motors Corp. in
Milwaukee and Kenosha until retiring.
On July 24, 1954, he married Dorothy Heilgendorf at St. John’s Lutheran
Church in Fredonia. She preceded him in death in 1977.
On May 12, 1979, he married Lorraine Hartmann-Goehring at Zion United
Methodist Church in Batavia. She preceded him in death in 2007.
He is survived by his three children Harvey Kessel of Madison, James
Kessel of Oregon, Wis. and Linda (Guy) Bollfrass of Cottage Grove, Wis.,
stepchildren Nora Halverson of Boscobel and the late David Baker of Texas,
eight grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, his sister Flora Beardsley of
Mesa, Ariz., other stepchildren and friends. He was preceded in death by
two brothers and two sisters.
The funeral is noon on Saturday, Aug. 27, at the Eernisse Funeral Home,
1600 W. Grand Ave., Port Washington, with Pastor Cheryl Hardigan
officiating.
Interment St. John's Cemetery, Fredonia.
Visitation is at the funeral home Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of
services.
