Shane
A. Lemke, age 35, was called home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Aug. 23,
2011, after a short but courageous battle with cancer. He attended Barton
Elementary and moved to Random Lake in 1985, graduating from Random Lake
High School Class of 1994. He married Jeni (nee Cohn) on May 19, 2001.
They have resided in Holy Cross for the past 11 years.
Shane worked many summers at Road America in Elkhart Lake and often helped
his friend, Tom, at the Random Lake Pizzeria. He received a degree in
custom cabinet building from MATC in Milwaukee. He worked at various
cabinet shops until finding a home at A-1 Custom Design in Saukville.
Shane was an avid sportsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling,
campfires, trap shooting and especially loved the game of darts spending
many nights playing. He was an "adrenaline junky" who loved
attending NASCAR and Indy events with his Uncle Donnie and cousin Steven.
He loved the sport of sky-diving and introduced a number of his friends
and family to the sport. Shane was a music lover who attended many
concerts with his wife, friends, and cousin, Kevin Jr.
Shane is survived by his loving wife, Jeni; parents, Russ and Debbie (nee
Schultz); paternal grandfather, Warren Lemke; maternal grandfather, Donald
Schultz, Sr.; father-in-law, George Cohn; aunts and uncles, Cindy (Jim)
Boylen, Chris (Al) Tackes, Deb Schultz, Don (Ginger) Schultz, Jr., Kevin
(Jan) Lemke, and Todd Lemke; cousins, Nick and Matt Boylen, Steven
Schultz, Jennifer (Grant) Greenfield, Roechelle (special friend, Logan
Boshae) Tackes, Robert Tackes, Carly Schultz, Kevin, Jr., Brandon, Cody,
and Brittany Lemke; siblings-in-law, Stacey (Jon) Behnke,
Laura (Ralph) Garcia, Josh (Trudy) Cohn, Jake Cohn, Erin (Tony) Klein, and
Kati (Cory) Dimmer; nephews and nieces, Nathan (Tia) Grabinski, Nick
Grabinski, Jessica Jensen, Godson Brandon, Tyler, and Allison Garcia,
Benjamin, Aidan, Tamera, and Taylor Cohn, Godson Dylan and Isabelle Klein,
Abigail Dimmer; great-niece, Kyleigh Grabinski; and a great-nephew, Alva,
III Richards; further survived by his special friends, his dogs, Jovi and
Shockey who he would often take for swims in Lake Michigan, long walks on
the beach, and hunting trips and his cat, Little Rat. Shane is further
survived by other relatives and many dear friends.
He is preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Karen Schultz;
paternal grandmother, Norma Lemke; Uncle Mike Schultz; cousin, David
Lemke; mother-in-law, Sharon Cohn; brother-inlaw, Gregory Cohn; and
special friends, Marty Biever and Brian Dre.
The memorial service for Shane will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2011 at 7
p.m. at the Phillip Funeral Home Chapel (1420 W Paradise Drive, West Bend)
with Rev. Eric Kirkegaard presiding.
The visitation will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2011, from 4 p.m. until
6:45 p.m., also at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be appreciated to the family.
