Irene M. Wros, 89
Irene M. Wros (nee Haffner), 89, of River
Way Place Assisted Living passed away on Thursday, Dec. 1, 2011. She was
the beloved wife of the late Mathew A. Wros.
Irene was born on Nov. 28, 1922 in Havelock, Neb., the daughter of
Gottfried and Bertha Haffner. Besides raising five children, Irene worked
for many years at Briggs & Stratton in Milwaukee. After her
retirement, Irene loved spending time baking, cooking, reading, spending
time with her family and going to the casino. One of the highlights of her
retirement was a trip she took to Egypt.
Irene is survived by her children Anthony (Patricia), William (Mary),
Suzette (Ralph) Solberg, Steven (Deborah), and Kathryn (Paul) Krolnik; 12
grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She is further survived by
her sister LaVerne (Charles) Riefel, brother Edward Haffner, and many
other relatives and friends. Irene is preceded in death by her husband
Mathew, parents, sister Florence, and brother Harry.
A Memorial Service for Irene will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 17, 2011
at the Phillip Funeral Home Chapel, 1420 W. Paradise Drive in West Bend.
Visitation will be from 1-1:45 p.m. at the FUNERAL HOME ONLY on Saturday,
Dec. 17, 2011.
Interment of ashes to take place at Central Wisconsin Veterans Cemetery in
King at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to the
charity of your choice.
The family would like to give special thanks to the staff at River Way
Assisted Living Community in West Bend, Dr. Michael Mangold, and the Home
& Hospice Advantage for the wonderful care they gave Irene.
