Mary Lou Shefka, 77, of North Fond du Lac died Tuesday Dec. 6, 2011 at St. Agnes Hospital.

She was born on March 10, 1934 in Marenisco, Mich., the daughter of the late Theodore and Myrtle Reese Russell. She was a 1951 graduate of the Marenisco High School in Michigan. She married Anthony Shefka on Feb. 2, 1952 at the Catholic Church in Ramsey, Mich. Tony preceded her in death on Nov. 29, 2006.

Mary Lou loved to sew, crochet, knit and all kinds of crafts. She will be especially remembered for her baking, she was proud to be a mom and grandma. She was a member of the Holy Family Parish.

Survivors include her two daughters: Diane (Jim) Feiereisen of Fond du Lac and Peggy (Mike) Wondra of Lomira; six grandchildren, Ryan Hall (Melissa West), Michael (Melinda) Belger, Brad Hall (Robyn Konyn), Miranda Fechter (Ben Marsh) and Ashley Fechter (Shawn Lick) and Brandon Wondra; and two great-grandchildren, Kaeli Marsh and Ethan Belger. Mary Lou is further survived by three sisters: Jerri (Les) Weisinger of West Bend, Peggy Regis of Rhinelander and Wyllis Grasso of Wakefield, Mich.; nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends. Mary Lou was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Tony.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, Dec. 10, 2011, at noon at the Holy Family Parish, 271 Fourth Street Way in Fond du Lac with Fr. Victor Capriola. Friends may call at the church from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorials appreciated.
