Frank J. Slesar,
J. Slesar, age 91, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2011. He was born
in Milwaukee on Sept.10, 1920 to Frank and Josephine (nee Lansky) Slesar.
He was raised in Myra and graduated from West Bend High School Class of
’38. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII. He and his
brother Joe founded Slesar Glass Shop. Frank served as Alderman for West
Bend. He was an officer and member of West Bend Chamber of Commerce,
Downtown Business Association, and WI Glass Association. He was a
founding member of the West Bend Keystone Cops, charter member of St.
Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, and a member of Knights of Columbus
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Rose Mary (nee Koca); children,
Pat (Peter) Hoeft, Sue (Mic) Schemelin, Barb (Steve) Schmit, Mike (Ann)
Slesar, Paul (Kathy) Slesar, and Jill (John) Mahlberg; grandchildren,
Alexis (David) Schmitz, Erika (Evan) Spitler, Matthew (Rachel) Schemelin,
Ben (Jenni) Schemelin, Becca (Neil) Kornstedt, Sarah (Phil) Stepanski,
Jeff Schmit, Noah Slesar and Abby Slesar; great-grandchildren, Peter and
Luke Schmitz, Tore and Trygve Schemelin, Nathan and Ryan Stepanski;
brother in-law, Homer Schaub; and sister in-law, Anne Koca. He is
further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Mary Schaub; brother and
sister in-law, Joseph (Loraine) Slesar.
The Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, Dec. 12,
2011 at 6 p.m. at St. Frances Cabrini (1025 S 7th Ave., West Bend) with
Fr. Tony Polyak M.M. presiding and assisted by Deacon Michael Koebel.
The Visitation will be held at the church on Monday, Dec. 12, from 4-6
p.m. followed by a sandwich buffet. Interment will take place at Holy
Angels Cemetery on Tuesday, Dec, 13, at 10 a.m. Memorial contributions
may be made to the Wisconsin Parkinson Association (945 N. 12th St.,
Suite 4602, Milwaukee, WI 53233) or St. Frances Cabrini Education Fund.
The family is especially grateful to the loving and compassionate care
provided by the staff on the first floor of The Fields CBRF.
