David E. Gertsch, 48 David E. Gertsch, of Hidden Valley Drive in Cedarburg, passed away Friday evening, Dec. 9, 2011 at Horizon Hospice in Mequon. He was 48 years old. David was born Feb. 3, 1963 in Milwaukee, the son of Eugene and Karen Van Altena Gertsch. For 12 years , David worked as a tool and die maker at Carlson Tool in Cedarburg. On Feb. 20 of this year, he was united in marriage with Rosalinda Soto at First Congregational Church in Port Washington. David was an outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and gardening. He was an avid Harley rider, and his numerous woodworking projects will be cherished by those closest to him. David is survived by his wife and best friend Rosalinda, and his two step-sons: Brad and Jeremy Heikkinen of Cedarburg. He is further survived by his brothers John Gertsch of Oregon and Bill (Sue) Gertsch of Cedarburg and their children Matt and Ryan, mother-in-law Joan Soto of West Bend, brothers and sisters-in-law: Patricia (Dean) Finley of Illinois, Dennis (Joy) Soto of Texas, Barbara Soto of Florida, Elizabeth (Dave) Doede of West Bend, Gilbert Soto of Texas and Marsha Soto of West Bend, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A Memorial Service will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 15 at Eernisse Funeral Home, 1167 Washington Ave. in Cedarburg with Pastor Jeff Suddendorf officiating. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Thursday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Horizon Hospice.
