Hans W. Luedtke Sr., 81, passed away on
Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2011.
He was born in Milwaukee on Feb. 24, 1930 to Walter and Clara (nee Lange)
Luedtke. He graduated from Milwaukee Lutheran High School Class of 1948.
He attended Marquette University for one year and then served in the Army
National Guard. He was a welder and retired from Bostrom Seating after 37
years of employment. After retirement, he worked at DC Loomis Co., CSE,
E.H. Wolf & Sons, and P.P.T. Hans ran the town of West Bend Leaf and
Yard Waste Facility and was the past president of St. Paulís Cedar Lake
Church. He enjoyed riding his lawn mower, cutting grass and splitting
wood. He had the gift of conversation and seemed to know everyone in the
area. Above all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Marilyn (nee Mavis); children,
Colleen (Corey) Grothem of Minnesota, Cheryll (David) Bublitz of West
Bend, Cathy (Bill) Goss of Colorado, Christine (Curt) Horbas of
Kewaskum, Hans Jr. "John" of Slinger, Cary (Scott) Metternich of
West Bend, Charles "Chuck" (Gina) of Jackson; 14 grandchildren;
five great-grandchildren; sister, Louise (Joseph) Roberts; six nieces and
nephews, other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents and a sister in-law, Doris Ulwelling.
The funeral service will be held on Friday, Dec. 16, 2011 at 6 p.m. at the
Phillip Funeral Home of West Bend Chapel, 1420 W. Paradise Drive,
with Pastor Paul Reede presiding. The visitation will be held at the
funeral home on Friday, Dec. 16 from 3 p.m. until the time of service at 6
p.m. Interment will take place on Saturday, Dec. 17 at 11 a.m. at St. Paulís
Cedar Lake Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to Operation Smile is
what Hans would desire.
