Lyla G. Boerger, 82
Lyla
G. Boerger, nee Liepert, 82, of West Bend, passed away peacefully on
Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2011 surrounded by her family.
She was born on Nov. 1, 1929 in the town of Farmington to the late Walter
and Martha (nee Quaas) Liepert. On May 20, 1951, Lyla was united in
marriage to Robert "Bob" Boerger at Trinity Lutheran Church in
West Bend. Together they built their home in the subdivision of
Gopherville in the town of Barton where they lived the majority of their
life before moving to the city of West Bend.
Lyla worked at Amity, Toy World, and Boerger Floral for many years before
retiring. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in West Bend, the
West Bend Women of the Moose #1398, a partner at St. Joseph’s Hospital
and an election board volunteer for many years.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Robert Boerger of West Bend;
son, Daniel (April) Boerger of Random Lake; daughter, Cheryl (Michael) Hay
of West Bend, two grandchildren, Angela (finance, Todd Niteski) Vanetta of
Milwaukee and Jeremy Boerger of Menomonee Falls; two step-grandchildren,
Katharine "Katie" Brokaw of Random Lake and Zachery Brokaw of
Sun City, Calif.; two great-grandchildren, Amelia Lee and Hope Brokaw;
sister, Janice (Allan Kempf) Liepert of Chilton; two brothers, Ralph
(Marilyn) Liepert of West Bend and Willis (Janis) Liepert of Random Lake;
four sisters in-law, Myrtle Liepert of West Bend, Gloria Liepert of
Kewaskum, La-Verne Junge of Random Lake, and Beverly Boerger of West Bend;
many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Lyla was preceded in death by her parents; son, Darryl Boerger; two
sisters, Verna and her husband Glen Grasse, and Lois Junge; two brothers,
Lloyd Liepert and Elton "Bud" Liepert; three brothers-in-law,
Myron "Mike" Siebenaler, Walter Boerger Jr., Ed Krueger and
Wallace Junge; two sistersin-law, Luella Liepert and June Coburn along
with her husband Ed; and parents-inlaw, Walter and Lillie (nee Knippel)
Boerger Sr.
Funeral services in remembrance of Lyla will be held on Friday, Dec. 23 at
6 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 140 N. Seventh Ave., West Bend, with
Pastors David and Cristy Schoob presiding. Visitation will be at the
church on Friday from 4 p.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be
on Tuesday, Dec. 27 at 10 a.m. in Washington County Memorial Park.
