Mildred H. Odekirk, 77
Mildred
H. Odekirk, 77, of Campbellsport passed away Tuesday Dec. 20, 2011. She
was born in Barton on March 19, 1934 the daughter of the late Lawrence and
Anna (nee Metz) Wallenfelsz.
She graduated from St. Mary Spring Academy in 1952. On July 3, 1954 she
married John "Jack" Odekirk at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in
Kewaskum.
For 20 years Mildred and Jack participated in historic re-enactments and
rendezvous. In their younger years they were avid snowmobilers and
belonged to the New Fane Kettle Riders and the Sno Cougars. Mildred was a
member of St. Matthew’s Catholic Church and the Christian Women. She was
also a former member of the Bintzler-Waehler American Legion Auxiliary and
the Ouderkirk Genealogical Society. Mildred was the best mother,
grandmother and great-grandmother; she will be greatly missed.
Survivors include her children Kathryn (Jon) Hughett of Milwaukee, David (Debi)
Odekirk of Watertown, Carol (Don) Butzke of Campbellsport, Gary (Lynn)
Odekirk of Cedarburg, and Shary (Bob Kobs) Meilahn of Oconto Falls, her
grandchildren Renee (Troy) Lammert, Anthony Helsell, Adam (Krystle)
Helsell, Don "DJ" Butzke, Alexandria Odekirk, Jonathan Odekirk,
Nicole Odekirk, Greg Meilahn, and Casey Meilahn, her niece and nephew
Anita Wallner and Marty Wallner, five stepgrandchildren, six
greatgrandchildren, other relatives and friends. She was preceded by her
husband Jack on April 30, 1999, her sister Bernice Wallner and
brother-in-law George Wallner.
Visitation will be Monday, Dec. 26 from 4-6:30 p.m. at the Twohig Funeral
Home, 109 W. Main St., Campbellsport.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday Dec. 26 at 7 p.m. at St.
Matthew Catholic Church, Campbellsport. Rev. Neil Zinthefer and Rev Scott
Wallenfelsz will officiate and private family burial will be Tuesday in
the parish cemetery.
