Ruth L. Laufenberg passed away Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2011, at Hartford Health Care, at the age of 85 years. She was born Jan. 18, 1926, in Addison, Wis., the daughter of Carl and Olive (nee Cramblet) Dahm. Ruth lived in Hartford most of her life, with her immediate family. She married Elmer Orin Marthaler in 1941. Ruth was a lifetime member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Hartford. In 1949, she married Melvin Laufenberg. She enjoyed reading and spending time with her family, and especially her grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husbands Elmer and Melvin, and her brothers, Norman Dahm, Mathias "Matt" Weber, Franklin Weber and Arden "Art" Weber.

Ruth is survived by her children Elmer (Diane) Marthaler of Watertown, Dennis (fiancé Esther) Marthaler of Hartford, Judith (George) Dallen of Lombard, Ill., and Michael Laufenberg of Lombard, Ill., her brother Donald Weber of the Philippines, and sisters-in-law Beatrice Dahm, Phyllis Weber and Marlene Weber. Also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2012, at the Berndt-Ledesma Funeral Home from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. at the Funeral Home. The Rev. Marcia Carrier of Redeemer Lutheran Church, Hartford, will officiate. Interment Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
