Glenn R. Broker

Glenn R. Broker, 84, of Hartford, passed away Friday, Dec. 30, 2011, at the Aurora Medical Center in Hartford.

Glenn was born June 26, 1927, in Two Rivers to Roland and Adeline (Haag) Broker. He was united in marriage to Grace Vetter on Sept. 3, 1949, in Manitowoc. Grace preceded him in death on June 1, 1999. He married Marvel Grady (nee Hofmaier) on March 8, 2003, at St. Kilian Catholic Church.

Glenn worked for 40 plus years in education, and served as the District Administrator for the Hartford Joint 1 School District. The Lincoln School library is named in his honor. He enjoyed camping, fishing, traveling, photography, stamp and coin collecting. Glenn was a Boy Scout leader for over 25 years and he proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps, serving in the Pacific. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and will be deeply missed.

He is survived by wife Marvel; his children Cyndi (Gordy) Aulenbacher of Hartford and family Ryan (Kim), Summyr (Mike), Kyle, and Kody; Randall (Gale) Broker of Rubicon and family Craig (Carrie), Kelly (John), and Jennifer (Dan); Scott (Chrissy) Broker of Hartford and family Nathan (Andrea), and Sara; Renee (David) Held of Hartford and family Adam and Dana (Seth); Dawn (Al) Goecks of Hartford and family Andrew and Aaron; Brian (Margie) Broker of Hartford and family Cianna, Alex, and Logan; his step-son Patrick (Terri) Grady of Hartford; six great grandchildren; his sister Gail (Larry) Smits; brothers-in-law Alan Geimer and Donald Finch; and his sister-in-law Marie Schultz. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Glenn was preceded in death by his parents, wife Grace, sisters Lois Perry, Jean Finch, Judi Geimer, sister-in-law Dorothy Wiegand, and his brothers-inlaw Howard Perry, Raymond Schultz and Robert Wiegand.

Mass of Christian Burial for Glenn will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2012, at 7 p.m. at St. Kilian Catholic Church, Hartford with the Rev. David LaPlante officiating. The family will greet relatives and friends on Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. at the church.

Interment at St. Kilian Catholic Cemetery, Hartford.
