Raymond W. Timm, 90
Raymond W. Timm of Germantown, formerly of Mequon, passed away on Jan. 28, 2011, under the care of Horizon Hospice at Columbia St. Mary’s Hospital in Mequon at age 90. Ray was born Jan. 24, 1921, in Milwaukee, the son of Charles and Meta Timm.
Ray was drafted into the U.S. Army Air Corp and proudly served his country during World War II with the 8th Air Force as an armorer in Ridgewell, England. After returning from the service, Ray was employed with Jaeger Baking Co. as a route salesman for 42 years, retiring in 1983.
Ray had many hobbies during his long life. He was a skilled craftsman, making wooden replicas of miniature houses and barns. He worked with stained glass and did some painting with acrylics. Ray also wrote and published a book capturing his three years of service with the Army Air Corp.
Ray is survived by his wife, Anne, of 65 years; and their sons, Dennis (Judy) Timm of Sarasota, Fla., and Gary (Kathy) Timm of Cincinnati; two grandchildren, Craig (Gayla) Timm of Oro Valley, Ariz., and Cari Timm of Denver; two step-grandchildren, Jackie (Dave) Peters and Abe (Tonya) Meredith, both from Cincinnati; one great-grandchild, Maelle; and six step-great-grandchildren, Sommer, Sara, Kaylee, Emily, Payton and Caden. He is also survived by two brothers, Howard (Elvira) Timm and Charles Jr. (Jo Anne) Timm; and one sister, Evelyn (Bob) Siegman; in addition to other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Ruth (Ed) Schulz.
Funeral services will be held today, Feb. 1, at 7 p.m. at Schmidt & Bartelt Funeral and Cremation Services, 10280 N. Port Washington Road, Mequon. Visitation will be today from 4 p.m. until the time of the services. Private entombment will be at Wisconsin Memorial Park.
