Donald F. Geier, 70 A funeral service will be held Friday, Feb. 4, 2011, at 1 p.m. at Grace Lutheran Church, Grafton, for Donald F. Geier, of Saukville, who passed away on Jan. 31, 2011, at the Horizon Hospice Inpatient Unit of Columbia St. Mary’s Ozaukee at the age of 70. Visitation will be at Mueller Funeral Home, W63 N527 Hanover Ave., Cedarburg, today, Feb. 3, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Interment will take place at Zur Ruhe Cemetery. Don was born in Milwaukee on Nov. 7, 1940, the son of Clarence and Josephine (nee Sekas) Geier. He grew up in Mequon. After high school graduation in 1959, Don enlisted and became a member of the 32nd Air National Guard. He married Susan (nee Brohm) on Sept. 7, 1963, at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church in Cedarburg. They moved to Saukville in 1995. Don was employed as a machinist at Bolens FMC until the company left the area. Don was an avid NASCAR fan. He enjoyed being in his garage working on old cars, small engines and making tractor repairs. Don loved plowing snow. He was also a hunter, fisher and trap shooter. Don was a lifetime member of the Amateur Trapshooting Association. Don had a lot of struggles and health issues over the years. He fought the good fight through it all. Don is survived by his beloved wife, Susan, of Saukville; sons, Daniel (Noelle) Geier of Colgate and David (Kara) Geier of West Bend; granddaughters, Sarah Geier, Marie Geier, Amber Geier and Ashley Geier; sister, Marilyn (Tony) Koshel of Columbus, Wis.; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. Mueller Funeral Home & Crematory in Cedarburg is serving the family. |
