Robert A. ‘Bob’ Werner, 84

Robert A. "Bob" Werner, 84, passed away on Monday, Jan. 31, 2011.

Bob was born on Jan. 4, 1927, in West Bend, to Benjamin and Katherine (nee Amerling) Werner. He married Phyllis Guidinger on Oct. 22, 1955, at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church in Cedarburg. Bob was very artistic and incredibly talented. As a mason by trade, he was well-recognized for his fieldstone fireplaces. He also enjoyed creating birdhouses and other decorations out of barn boards. For 15 years, Bob was employed at Moraine Park Technical College in charge of the grounds and maintenance department.

Bob is survived by his wife of 55 years, Phyllis; children, Scott, Sandra (Michael), Steve (Tracy), and Patti (John); and grandchildren, Zachary, Jillian, Austin, Hunter and Mitchell. He is further survived by his sister, Harriet; sister-in-law, Alice; brother-in-law, Richard (Carol) Guidinger; and many other nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Lloyd and Jack Werner; and in-laws, Louis and Shirley Guidinger.

A memorial Mass of Christian burial for Bob will be at noon on Saturday, Feb. 5, at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, 1025 S. 7th Ave., West Bend, with the Rev. Jeffrey Haines presiding. Gathering will be at the church only on Saturday, Feb. 5, from 10 a.m. until 11:45 a.m.
