Warren L. Schwandt, 67

Warren L. Schwandt, 67, of West Bend, went to be with the Lord early Monday morning, Feb. 7, 2011, after his struggle with heart and kidney failure.

He was born on Nov. 5, 1943, in Plymouth, the son of the late Victor and Alyce Schwandt. He graduated from Plymouth High School in 1961. On June 20, 1964, Warren married Judith Pfrang at St. John Lutheran Church in Plymouth. The couple made their home in West Bend since 1973. Warren had worked for Milwaukee County Transportation Co. since the age of 18, until his retirement at age 52. He was an avid hunter and fisherman for most of his life. He also enjoyed playing bridge and hosting card club with his wife and friends.

Warren is survived by his daughter, Polly (Matthew) Zeiger of Blacksburg, Va.; son, Benjamin (Erika) Schwandt of Oconomowoc; four grandsons, Kelby, Tristan, Brodie and Keegan; and a granddaughter, Adeline. He is further survived by one brother-in-law, Kenneth Mohs; and one sister-in-law, Joanne (Andrew) Rogers; and special friend, Judy Buntrock.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Judith; parents, Victor and Alyce; and a sister, Carol Mohs.

A funeral service for Warren will be at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 10, at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 809 S. 6th Ave., West Bend with the Rev. Jeff Dorth presiding. Visitation will be at the church only on Thursday, Feb. 10, from 3:30 p.m. until 5:45 p.m. Entombment will take place at 10 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 11, at Washington County Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Warren’s name may be donated to the American Cancer Society, N19W24350 Riverwood Drive, Waukesha, WI 53188-1142.

Warren was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He will be remembered for his love of nature and his kind heart.
