Lilyosa ‘Lily’ Anna Uelmen, 100

Lilyosa "Lily" Anna Uelmen (nee Thull), 100, of St. Michael's, passed away on Monday, Feb. 14, 2011 at Cedar Community.

Lily was born on July 12, 1910 to Nicholas and Anna (nee Schneider) Thull in Farmington. She was raised on the family farm with her eight siblings and later married Raymond Uelmen on Nov. 22, 1947. Lily was a member of the Ladies Aide at St. Michael's Catholic Church.

Lily is survived by "her girls" SueAnn (Dennis) Nickel and Marian (Chuck) Roethke; her grandchildren Karen (Joe) Miller, Kim (Heidi) Nickel, Kelly (Eric) Strnad, Kevin Nickel, Christa (Jeff) Cardenas and Charles Roethke; great grandchildren Joseph and Kiara Miller, Sommer and William Strnad and Samantha Nickel, sister Ann Thill, brother William (Cyrilla) Thull, and sister in-law Evelyn Uelmen. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Into eternal life, she will join her husband Raymond, sisters Veronica, Irma, Marie, Rosina and brothers Jacob and Theodore.

A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 18, 2011 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, 8877 Forest View Rd., St. Michaels, WI, with the Rev. Edward Kornath presiding. Interment will take place at St. Michael’s Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 18, 2011. Memorials are appreciated to the Alzheimer's Association or Cedar Community.
