Kathryn M. ‘Katy’ Arndt, 83
Kathryn M. "Katy" Arndt, 83 of Fredonia passed away Tuesday, Feb. 15 at Kathy Hospice in West Bend where she had been a patient for the day.
She was born on July 17, 1927 in Lady Smith, Wis., a daughter of the late Earl and Flora Steubs McIntyre.
She attended Lady Smith Grade School, and graduated from Lady Smith High School in 1944.
On Oct. 16, 1948 she married Robert N. Arndt. He preceded her in death on July 15, 1998.
Katy was employed at Nemschoff Furniture Company in Sheboygan, and then helped her husband on the family homestead.
She was a member of Zion United Methodist Church in Batavia and served as a Sunday School Teacher. She belonged to the United Methodist Women serving as chairperson, and Trustee of the Church, along with singing in the choir for many years.
She enjoyed selling Avon products in the Town of Farmington, reading, baking and playing cards, but most of all spending time with family.
Survivors include: four children: Bonnie (Anand) Reddy of McHenry, Ill., Greg (JoAnne) Arndt of Fredonia, Brenda (Orin) Acker of Morris, Ill., and Doug (Kathy) Arndt of Fredonia; nine grandchildren: Brad Eastep of Cary, Ill., Eric Estep of Cary, Ill., Jake (Cassie) Arndt of Random Lake, Kelly (Chad) Rathke of Random Lake, Nate (Crystal) Arndt of Random Lake, Jamison Acker of Chicago, Thomas Acker of Morris, Ill., Devin Arndt of Fredonia, and Colin Arndt of Fredonia; four g re at - g r a n d ch i l d re n : Mason and Cooper Arndt, Reese Rathke, Natalie Arndt; brothers and sisters-in-law: Armin (Janet) Arndt of Random Lake, Geraine Eisentraut of Waupaca, Howard Arndt of Belgium, Sylvia Ziehr of Random Lake, Martin (Kathy) Arndt of Crooked Lake and Dan (Judy) Arndt of Fredonia.
She is also survived by other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband’s sister, Letha, and two infant children.
Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 19, 2011 at Zion United Methodist Church in Batavia. The Rev. Gail Mitchell, pastor of Zion United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Relatives and friends may call from 2 p.m. until the time of services on Saturday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in her name for the American Cancer Society and for the Zion United Methodist Church.
