Donald M. Peters
Donald "Don" M. Peters, age 84, of Theresa passed away on Thursday, Feb. 17, 2011 with his loving family at his side.
Donald was born on Oct. 14, 1926, in West Bend to Henry and Theresa (Melder) Peters. He married Harriet Herriges on Aug. 29, 1951, at St. Michaelís Church in St. Michael's, WI. He was a member of Resurrection Parish and the Knights of Columbus Unity Council 12743. Farming was his life and joy. He farmed in the town of Polk, until 1959 when he moved to the present family farm in the town of Herman.
Survivors include his devoted wife Harriet of 59 years, and eight children: Henry Peters of Theresa, Jane (Barry) Graff of West Bend, Mary Ann (Paul) Petri of West Bend, Chris Eshun of Madison, Carol (Larry) Beistle of Hartford, Mike (Mary Pat) Peters of Theresa, Donna (Alan) Kanas of Allenton, Jim (Wendy) Peters of Theresa; 23 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and another in August.
He is also survived by his brothers Al (Edna) Peters and Francis (Rita) Peters, both of West Bend and two sisters Lillian (Tony) Ritger of Allenton and Henrietta (Joe) Schnitzler of Theresa and four brothers-in-law Ric-ard (Audrey) Herriges of Kewaskum, Br. Isidore Her-riges O.F.M. Cap of Nicar-agua, Lee (Erlene) Herriges of Campbellsport, John Niemeier of Malone and three sistersin-law Marian (Paul) Yank of Cedarburg, Joan (Ernie) Lehr of Fond du Lac, Cathy (John) Mach-acek of Slinger and Aunt Adelia (Sylvester) Spaeth of West Bend; nieces, neph-ews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, grandson Joel Kanas, brothers Raymond and Edmund Peters, sisters Dorothy, Marie, Genevieve, sister-in-law Adeline Niemeier, brothers-in-law Norbert Bauman, Ed Wiedmeyer and Greg Wiedmeyer.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Don will be at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 22, at Resurrection Parish in Allenton with Father Richard Stoffel presiding. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday, February 21, at the Phillip Funeral Home Chapel of West Bend with additional visitation on Tuesday, Feb. 22 at Resurrection Parish from 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass at 10:30 a.m. Memorials are appreciated in his name to Cedar Community, Resurrection Parish of Allenton, or the Capuchin Missions.
