Gilbert A. ĎGibí Fuiten, 65

Gilbert A. "Gib" Fuiten, 65, of Rubicon, passed away on Friday, Feb. 18, 2011, at Columbia St. Maryís Hospital in Milwaukee.

Gib was born April 2, 1945, to Raymond and Agnes (nee Ruehl) Fuiten in Hustisford. He was united in marriage to Karen Schaefer on Aug. 17, 1963, at St. John Lutheran Church in Woodland.

Gib was a cheese maker for Stanga Cheese in Rubicon for 26 years and he was a farmer for most of his life, raising pigs in his later years. Gibís love was his farm which was known as "Gibís Poor Pig Farm."

He was a member of the Ashippun Lions, the Woodland Fire Department and a life time member of St. John Lutheran Church in Woodland. Gib loved Karenís cooking and dearly loved his family.

Gib is survived by his beloved wife, Karen; his children, Gilbert Jr. (Cheryl) Fuiten of Rubicon, Therese (Keith) Multhauf of Rubicon and Eric (Tami) Fuiten of Menomonee Falls; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandson; his mother, Agnes Ruehl of West Bend; his siblings, Donald (special friend, Jean) Fuiten of Rubicon, Dianne Fuiten of Florida and Raymond (Cathy) Fuiten of Germantown; his brother-inlaw, Thomas (Mary) Schaefer of Neosho; and his sister-law, Ruth Schaefer of Lomira. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Gib is preceded in death by his grandparents; his father, Raymond; brother, Edward Fuiten; sister, Barbara Fuiten; brothers-inlaw, Peter and John Schaefer; and his sisters-inlaw, Mary (Tom) Wilson and Patricia Heimerl.

Funeral services for Gib will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 23, at noon at St. John Lutheran Church, W2489 Woodland Road, Woodland. Visitation will be on Tuesday at the Shimon Funeral Home from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. and on Wednesday at St. John Lutheran Church from 11a.m. until the time of service. Interment will be at St. John Cemetery in Woodland.
