Merril J. Krueger

Merril J. Krueger, 82, of West Bend passed away Monday, Feb. 21, 2011, at the Kathy Hospice in the town of Polk.

He was born on March 8, 1928, on the family homestead farm in the town of Auburn to the late Wallace and Veilla (nee Dreher) Krueger. Merril graduated from Kewaskum High School in the class of 1946, and on Sept. 11, 1948, was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart Evelyn Techtmann at St. Lucas Evangelical Lutheran Church in Kewaskum.

Merril spent his working career at Regal Ware in Kewaskum. He served his country in the U.S. Army during Korea as an operating room technician at Fort Sam Houston, Texas.

Merril was a member of the Robert G. Romaine American Legion Post No. 384 in Kewaskum, the Hon-E-Kor Golf Course in Kewaskum and the Regal Ware 25 year club. He enjoyed hunting, sports, casino trips and was a life long avid Packer fan.

He is survived by his wife, Evelyn of West Bend; a sister-in-law, Betty Techtman; a brother-in-law, William Techtmann; special loving niece, Judy (Ed) Krepsky; other nieces, nephews, relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law, Harold and Ruth Krueger; a sister-in-law, Evelyn Techtmann; sister in-law and brother-in-law, Louise and Harvey Dhein; and a brother-in-law, Harvey Techtman.

Private family services in remembrance of Merril will be held on Saturday, Feb. 26, in the chapel at Ledgeview Memorial Park in Fond du Lac.

Entombment will follow.
