Jerome C. “Connie” Bettinger

Jerome C. “Connie” Bettinger, 81, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 24, 2011.
Connie was born on Jan. 30, 1930, in Milwaukee, to Fred and Elizabeth (nee Schmitz) Bettinger. He married Wilma Stenzel on Nov. 29, 1958, at Holy Ghost Lutheran Church in Milwaukee. Connie was a proud member of the U.S. Army where he was stationed in Alaska during the Korean Conflict. He was also member of the No. 196 Regimental Combat Team in South Dakota for the National Guard.

Connie is survived by his wife of 52 years, Wilma; sons, Lee (Tammie) Bettinger of West Bend, Mark (Jeanine) Bettinger of Hubertus and Kurt (Renee) Bettinger of Mukwonago; and grandchildren, Ryan and Megan Bettinger of Mukwonago. He is further survived by sister-in-law, Dorothy Bettinger of Brookfield.

Connie is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Bernard; sister, Anita Wiegand; and brother-in-law, Carl Wiegand.

A memorial service for Connie will be at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 27, at the Phillip Funeral Home Chapel, 1420 W. Paradise Dr., West Bend with the Rev. Matthew Short presiding. Gathering will take place at the funeral home only on Sunday, Feb. 27, from 3 p.m. until 4:15 p.m. Interment of ashes to take place at Blossomburg Cemetery in Fish Creek.
