Elsie V. Jadro, 83
Elsie V. Jadro, 83, died Dec. 29, 2010, at Skagit Valley Hospital, Mount Vernon, Wash., from a lung infection (MAC).
She was born April 10, 1927, in Mount Vernon, Wash.
In 1945 she met her husband, John A. Jadro from Milwaukee, who served in the U.S. Navy during World War II on the USS Enterprise. They settled at Crooked Lake where they built a home and raised their family. After 59 years they moved to Mount Vernon, Wash., to be closer to their daughter, Christine Jadro.
Elsie worked as a secretary at the West Bend Company. Elsie loved to travel and play bridge with her best friends, Rosie Ketter and Adela Baumhardt. She also drove in car rally races. Her special talent was sewing – she made beautiful quilts and baby blankets. Elsie was a member of St. Michaels Catholic Church alter guild.
Survivors include her daughter, Christine Jadro; four grandsons, Jason Frank of San Diego, Bryan Frank of Mount Vernon, John W. Jadro of Milwaukee and Troy Jadro of Madison.
Preceding her in death were her husband, John; and son, John.
A celebration of life will be held later in the year in Wisconsin, where she will be interred.
