Theresa Momper, 58
Theresa Momper, 58, of Port Washington was pronounced dead on Dec. 12, 2010, in Port Washington.
She was born Feb. 7, 1952, in Edgar, the daughter of Joseph and Caroline Huhnstock Momper.
She graduated from Rosemary Elementary School in Fredonia in 1966 and Edgar High School in Edgar in 1970. Theresa worked for Bolens in Port Washington for 20 years as a machinist. She decided to go back to school to begin a different career as a certified nursing assistant and graduating from Moraine Park Technical College in West Bend in 2004. She worked at a few elder care facilities in the area over the next few years. She was always concerned about the care the residents received at these nursing homes. She wanted the best for them and developed friendships with them. She took her job very seriously and believed in a high code of ethics regarding patient care.
Theresa was a caring, gentle, independent person. She always wanted to help people in any way she could. She was loved and will be deeply missed by her family. Theresa was a loving aunt to her nephews and nieces. She was always interested in what they were doing in their lives. It was not unusual for her to spend one to two hours on the phone, with one or the other of them discussing a range of topics from philosophies of religion, politics and the news of the day or just catching up.
Theresa was a devoted animal lover. During much of her life, she had a cat or two as beloved pets. She was an avid reader and would exchange books with members of the family to see what each otherís interests were and discuss the books afterwards. She enjoyed arts and crafts all her life. Much of her familyís homes display craft projects that Theresa had made for them over the years.
Theresa is survived and loved by her sisters, Carol (the late Jan) Borgenhagen of Cedar Grove and Barbara (James) Berres of Marshfield; her brother, LeRoy (Mary) Momper of Fredonia; nephews and nieces, Sky (Gay) Borgenhagen, Lance Borgenhagen, and Rex (Erin) Borgenhagen, Edward, Jeffrey, Keith, Steven, David, Jacqueline, Kevin, and Daniel Berres, Kerry (Mark) Gloede and Nicholas (Stephanie) Momper; grandnieces, grandnephews, great grandnieces, great grandnephews, and cousins.
