Myra L. Brummond, 90
Myra L. Brummond, 90, of Hartford passed
away on Saturday, Jan. 8, 2011, at Cedar Lake Health Care Center
surrounded by her loving family.
She was born April 16, 1920, to Roy and Olivia (nee Luedtke) Birk at their
home in the town of Herman. She married Harvey Brummond on Aug. 31, 1941,
at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in the town of Herman, where they farmed for
over 40 year.
Myra was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Hartford. Prior to being a
member at Peace, she was a longtime member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in
the town of Herman. She was active in both churches being part of the
Peace Lutheran Mission Society. At Emmanuel, she was the Ladies Aide and a
Sunday school teacher for 44 years. She worked for the Washington County
ASCS Office for more than 20 years. Myra had been a member of the Hartford
Senior Friends. Myra loved to sew, play cards, quilt and visit with family
and friends. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Myra is survived by her three daughters, Marlene Coffeen of Fond du Lac,
Marcey (Chuck) Lisko of Hartford and Muriel (Gene) Gundrum of Hartford;
seven grandchildren, Kurtis Baumann, Denise Kohn, Krista (Kent) Below,
Scott (Breea) Lisko, Lori (Mike) Hermann, Nathan Gundrum and Natalie
Gundrum; six great-grandchildren, Michael Kohn, Kayelynn and Kenzie Below,
Rebecca Lisko, Thomas and Anna Hermann. She is further survived by nieces,
nephews, other relatives and friends.
Myra was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey; a son-in-law, Robert
Coffeen; her brother and his wife, Merlin (Grace) Birk; her sister and her
husband, Violet (Bill) Hale; her sister and her husband, Virginia (Eugene)
Kranz; brother-inlaw and his wife, Clarence (Charlotte) Brummond;
sister-in-law and her husband, Vernice (Max) Rentsch.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Jan. 15, at noon at Peace Lutheran
Church in Hartford, 1001 Center St., with the Rev. Aaron Steinbrenner
officiating. The family will greet relatives and friends at the church on
Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the noon service. Following the service,
burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Hartford.
Memorials may be given to Peace Lutheran Church or the Charity of one’s
choice.
