Ronald ĎRon Jovií Douglas Gourley, 64

Ronald Douglas Gourley "Jovi" died on Jan. 7, 2011.

He was born on Oct. 24, 1946, in Edmonton Alberta, Canada to Robert and Katherine (nee Jeremy) Gourley. Ron moved with his parents and sister, Phyllis, from Canada to the United States in 1952.  Ron lived with his parents in Allen Park, Mich. In 1979, Ron moved to Cedarburg.

He is survived by his children, daughter Tamaron (Aaron) Van Buren and son Derek (Liz) Burke both of Brighton, Mich.; his sister, Phyllis (Charlie) Watkins of Howell, Mich.; and nieces and nephew, Stephanie (Mark) Hardy, Cami (John) Willey, Aimee Watkins and Lyle (Misty) Watkins. He is survived by the wonderful grandchildren, Isabella, Chloe, Sophia, Joey, Olivia, and Emma.  Also, many lovely great nieces and nephews survive him.  Ron also had a beloved cat named Killer.

Ron served our country as an E-4 in the U.S. Navy.  He was a master electrician and although retired, continued to work. Ron enjoyed spending time with his friends, bowling, softball, playing pool, and was an avid baseball and football fan. "Ron Jovi" always had a smile and a joke for his friends even when he was ill.  May he rest in peace.

Visitation will be held  Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2010, at the Mueller Funeral Home and Crematory in Cedarburg from 5 p.m. to 7 pm. The funeral service will follow the visitation at 7 p.m., with military honors. For online condolences please visit www.muellerfuneralhome.com.
