Margaret E. Nohr, 96
Margaret
E. Nohr, 96, of Cornell passed away Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2011, at the
Chippewa Manor Nursing Home in Chippewa Falls.
She was born on Sept. 29, 1914, to Arthur and Mary
(nee Graef) Klein in Milwaukee. Margaret Klein married Arthur Nohr on
March 1, 1936, in West Bend.
Margaret moved from Milwaukee when she was 5 years
old to Waukesha County, then moved to Washington County were she attended
country school and graduated from West Bend High School in 1932. She then
attended Fond du Lac County normal school for teachers training, then
taught at a one-room country school at Elm Grove School for two years,
they raised their family of five children in Washington County near West
Bend, after the children were raised she did teacher’s aide work.
Following Arthur’s retirement in 1980, they moved to the Keystone area
west of Cornell were she spent the rest of her life.
Margaret is survived by her children, daughters Marita (Charles) Kaehler of Kewaskum, Sandra (Clark) Woodis of Byers,
Colo.; and sons, James (Colleen) Nohr and John (Cheryl) Nohr, both of
Cornell; 13 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and four
great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Helen Junk of West Bend; a
sister-in-law, Rhiena Klein of Brookfield; and also by many nieces and
nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband,
Arthur Nohr; a son, Robert Nohr; a grandson; three great-grandsons; two
brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on
Saturday, Jan. 15, at Assembly of God Church in Bloomer, intersection of
highways 64 and 40, with the Rev. Robert Hoekstra and the Rev. Phillip
Halverson officiating. Family and friends may call on Friday, Jan. 14,
from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Borton-Leiser Funeral Home in Cornell, and
also one hour before services Saturday at the church. Graveside services
will be at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 17, at the Newark Cemetery, town of
Barton in rural West Bend.
