Donald Lee Clarke, 81
Donald Lee Clarke, who was born Aug. 24, 1929, in Marion, Ind., died Jan. 16, 2011, in Horizon Hospice at Columbia-St. Maryís Ozaukee.
He served in the Army and was a Korean War veteran. He was a pilot and an amateur magician. He also kept family and friends in good spirits with his jokes and storytelling. He was a lifelong plumber and ran the Don Clarke Plumbing business in the Grafton area for more than 30 years, retiring in 1996.
Don married Jeannine Bradley in La Crosse on March 7, 1953. He married Linda Kaniasty in Byron, Ohio, on May 6, 1995. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Jeannine; his father and mother, Ralph V. Clarke and Gladys D. Bowman; brother, Ralph V. Clarke Jr.; and daughter, Kim Larsen (Clarke).
He is survived by his wife, Linda; daughter, Kathi (Gregory) Schmidt and their children, Andrew (Amber) Schmidt, Amanda (Mike Tilkens) Schmidt, Brittany (Colin Halladay) Schmidt; son, Ralph (Cindy) Clarke and their children, Tanya Ayala, Teal Clarke, Megan Clarke, son Michael (Krysta) Clarke; son, Jack (Rae Ann) Clarke and their children, Julie (William) Leary, Savannah Clarke, Makayla Clark and daughter, Kimís children, Michelle (Brandon) Bustamanta and Jonathon Selensky and step-daughter, Laura (Darin) Frea.
Visitation will be Friday, Jan. 21, from 11 am to 1 p.m. at the Schmidt & Bartelt Funeral and Cremation Services, 10280 North Port Washington Road, Mequon. A funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. A procession to Resurrection Cemetery for committal prayer and full military honors will follow.
The family wishes to thank the staff and nurses at Horizon Hospice for the care and comfort given to Don in his final days.
