Arthur J. "Art" Truog
Arthur J. "Art" Truog, 55, of
Platteville, died Sunday, Jan. 9, 2011, from complications from a major
heart attack.
Art was born on Aug. 10, 1955, in Milwaukee, the son of Arthur Sr. and
Dolores (nee Kohlmann) Truog. He was employed by the U.S. Bank in downtown
Milwaukee for 20 years before he retired. He moved to Platteville in April
2009 and was a resident of Jenor Towers.
Art was very social and enjoyed visiting and being around family and
friends. Art will be sadly missed by his family and many friends. He
overcame many hardships and was proud to live independently.
Lee Casper and the James Hesseling family in particular helped him
accomplish this as well as his sister, Terry and her husband, Tim.
He is survived by his mother, Dolores Hibbard of Three Lakes; six
siblings, James (Barb) Truog of Waukesha, Bill (Kathy) Truog of Wauwatosa,
Dan (Joan) Truog of Kewaskum, Mary (Beckie Turner) Truog of Panama City,
Fla., Terry (Tim) Wood of Platteville, Tom (Pam) Truog of Three Lakes;
step-brothers and step-sisters, Chuck (Carrol) Hibbard of Herman, Mo.,
Dave (Sharon) Hibbard of Mercer and Ann Krueger of Waukesha; nieces and
nephews, Jamie (Stephanie) Truog, Nichole Truog, Mike (Kris) Truog,
Michelle (Craig) Jacak, Scott Truog, Lee (Heather) Wood, Ben (Kelli) Wood,
and Samantha Truog; and 10 great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Arthur J. Truog Sr.; and his
step-father, Sid Hibbard.
Memorial services will be at noon on Wednesday, Jan. 12, at Melby-Bendorf
Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville. Burial will be at a later date.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the time of service on Wednesday at
the funeral home.
