Lois C. Bartz, 74
Lois C. Bartz (nee Gumz). 74, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 20, 2011.
Lois was born on Oct. 15, 1936, to Jacob and Louise (nee Pagel) Gumz. She married Charles Bartz on June 11, 1955. She enjoyed camping, outdoor cooking, knitting, flower arranging, crafts, reading and spending time with her grandchildren and greatgrandchildren. She volunteered at the Ice Age Center, Samaritan Health Care Center and other organizations. This held a special place in her heart along with helping teach CCD and high school confirmation classes. Lois was a member of the Girl Scouts for over 50 years, and the Women’s Alter Sodality for St. Mathias Catholic Church. She will be dearly missed by her grand dog, Snickers.
Lois is survived by her children, Chris (Jeff) Meloy, Ken (Carol) Bartz and Cathy (Kevin) Ebert; grandchildren, Katie (Tim) VanderGrinten, Nicole Meloy, Jacob (Tamara) Meloy, Tracy (Antonio) Lopez, Jodi Meloy, Amy Meloy, Magie Meloy, Brandon Hafemeister, Nik Hafemeister, Clint Ebert, Dillon Ebert and Jesse Ebert; and great-grandchildren, Clara, Izak, Andrew, Johnathon, Joshua and Alison. She is further survived by her sister, Connie (Don) Wilson; and many other nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.
Lois is preceded in death by her husband, parents and brother, Roger Gumz.
A funeral service for Lois will be at 5:30 pm on Monday, Jan. 24, at the Phillip Funeral Home Chapel of West Bend with the Rev. Edwin Kornath presiding. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Monday, Jan. 24, from 3 p.m. until time of service. Interment will take place at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in Milwaukee. Memorials are appreciated to the family.
