Martha M. Pruski, 87

Martha M. Pruski, 87, of Hartford, was born to Eternal Life on Friday, Jan. 14, 2011.

She was born July 29, 1923, in Jackson the daughter of Frank and Anna (nee Kusz) Wilczewski. Martha moved to Milwaukee in 1927 where she graduated from Girls’ Trades & Technical High School in 1942. She married Norbert Pruski on April 27, 1946, at St. Benedict de Moor Church in Milwaukee. They moved to the Holy Hill area in 1968. She was an active member of St. Mary of the Hill Parish, as well as a former parish council member, an Auxilary member of Legion of Mary, a member of St. Anthony Guild, a former member of Christian Mothers, a Girl Scout Leader and a former school board member of Friess Lake School. Martha enjoyed planning family reunions and making birthday and wedding cakes for family and friends.

She is survived by her children, Catherine Twiford of Hartford, Dennis (Rita) Pruski of Hartford, Kenneth (Linda) Pruski of West Bend and Anthony Pruski of West Allis. Martha is further survived by her grandchildren, Jackie Twiford, Steve Twiford, Diane Pruski, Timothy (Roberta) Pruski, Sarah Pruski and Anthony Pruski; her great-grandchildren, Anna, Alex and Nicholas; and her sisters-in-law, Loretta (John) Wolf of Pewaukee and Laurene Wilke of Pardeeville. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Martha is preceded in death by her husband Norbert on Feb. 27, 2004; and her five brothers and three sisters.

Visitation will be Tuesday, Jan. 25, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at The Basilica of Holy Hill, main church. Mass of Resurrection will follow in the main church at 6 p.m. Celebrant will be the Rev. Fred Alexander, OCD. Private Interment.

Memorials to St. Mary of the Hill Parish would be appreciated. The Berndt-Ledesma Funeral Home is serving the family.
