Alice Kohlwey, 81


Alice Kohlwey (nee Sponer) of Grafton passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 6, 2011, at Kathy Hospice in West Bend at the age of 81.
Alice was born in Milwaukee on July 9, 1929, to Louis and Emma (nee
Gepfer) Sponer and married E. Frederic Kohlwey on April 7, 1951 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Grafton. Her parents and husband preceded her in death.

Alice was a longtime active member at St. Paul Lutheran Church where she shared her talents in the St. Paul Quilting Club, Ozaukee County Homemakers Club, Ozaukee County Retarded Citizens Organization, Portal Industries, and was a past leader for the Covered Bridge 4-H Club.

She is survived by her children, John (Sandra) of Chippewa Falls, Coreen (Robert) Kranski of Port Washington, Kathy Ruedinger of Fond du Lac and Ronald of Belgium; grandchildren, Brian and Scott Dobson of North Fond du Lac, Jay Kozlowski of Hayward and Dustin and Danielle Kohlwey of Chippewa Falls; one great-grandchild, Teven Dobson of North Fond du Lac; one brother, Robert (Chris) Sponer of  Manitowish Waters; and one sister, Dorothy Rockwood of Goshen, Ind.

She is further survived by other relatives and friends.

Private graveside services were held at St. Paul Lutheran Cemeter.
