John E. Wiita, of Fredonia, passed away on Monday, July 11, 2011, at the age of 70 years.

John was born on Dec. 10, 1940 in Wakefield, Mich., to Edwin and Theresa (nee Chapuzio). He married Margery Germain on Oct. 23, 1993, in Saukville.

John had a love for horses, hunting, fishing, and was very loved and well respected by the Amish community as he loved and respected them also.

John is survived by his wife Margie; children John, Jr. (Brenda), Scott (Julie), Jim (Kim) Kamke, and Christine (Jim) Franz; and grandchildren Ashley, Cody, Danielle, Steven, Lauren, Bryan, Ashlyn, Heather, Miranda, Josh, Heather, Lindsay, and Kyle. He is further survived by his sisters Carol (Tom) Beilke, Paula Adams, and Judy (Jack Niemisto) Wiita; and many other nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends. John is preceded in death by his daughter Yvonne and parents Edwin and Theresa.

A memorial service for John will be at 6 p.m. on Friday, July 15, 2011, at St. John Lutheran Church, 621 Division Road, Newburg with the Rev. Jon Baumann presiding. Gathering will be from 4 p.m. until 5:45 p.m. on Friday, July 15, 2011, at the church only.
