Howard R. ‘Howie’ Brandt, 64

Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 15, 2011, at 7 p.m. at Mueller Funeral Home & Crematory in Cedarburg for Howard R. "Howie" Brandt who died on July 11, 2011, at Mayo Clinic Health System in Menomonie at the age of 64. The Rev. Kris Ertl will be officiating.

Visitation will be held on Friday from 4 p.m. until the time of the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the American Diabetes Association or your choice are appreciated.

Howie was born in Cedarburg on July 30, 1947, the son of Walter and Rose (nee Flok) Brandt. Howie was employed at Mercury Marine for over 25 years. He also worked at Milwaukee County Stadium and The Buddy Schmidt Produce Stand. Howie managed his own hobby farm and also worked at Walmart in Menomonie.

Howie enjoyed gardening, raising chickens, riding his Harleys and most of all, Loved His Kids. Howie also volunteered at the Ozaukee County Fair, working as a field judge during the demolition derby. Howie was also a past president of the Ozaukee Guzzlers.

Howie is survived by his daughters, Rachel (Adam) Mikyska of West Bend and Elizabeth Brandt of Random Lake; grandsons, Gavin and Donovan Mikyska and Diego Brandt; brothers, Wally Brandt of Glendale, Ariz., Irv (Arlene) Brandt of Cedarburg, Bill (Diane) Brandt of Cedarburg, Roger (Katie) Brandt of Algoma and Raymond (Kathy) Brandt of Cedarburg. Howie is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Howie was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Rosalyn.
