Irene E. Spenner, 85


Irene E. Spenner (Salter, nee Wolf), 85, passed away on Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at Autumn Oaks of Slinger. She was born on Feb. 1, 1926, in the town of Richfield to the late John and Anna (nee Schmitt) Wolf. Irene was the former Postmaster of Richfield and a devoted employee of the U.S. Postal Service for over 30 years. She was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church, Christian Mothers, and the Slinger VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She was an avid and passionate bowler and longtime member of Slinger/Richfield Women's Bowling Association.

Irene is survived by her children, Donna Moldenhauer, Pamela Salter, Steven Salter; grandchildren, Anne (Brian) Steger, Amy (James) Downes, David (Kim) Moldenhauer; great-grandchildren, Elizabeth and Jeremy Kozlowski, Kaley Georgenson, Connor and Aiden Downes, Tristan Moldenhauer; siblings, John (Loretta) Wolf, Bernard (Delores) Wolf, and Robert (Irene) Wolf; sisters in-law, Mildred and Shirley Wolf. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband, John Spenner who died on Oct. 1, 2005; parents; siblings, Lawrence, Cyril, Anthony, Francis, Ralph, Marie, Lorraine, Dorothy and Ruth; great-grandchild, James Kozlowski, and a son-inlaw, David Moldenhauer.

The Mass of Christian burial will be held on Sunday, July 24, 2011, at 6 p.m. at St. Peterís Catholic Church, 200 E. Washington St. of Slinger.

Visitation will be Sunday, July 24 from 3 until 5:45 p.m., also at the church. Private interment will take place at St. Peterís Cemetery (new).
