Cindy Harley, 85

Cindy Harley, 85, of Mequon passed away July 25, 2011.
She was born to Herbert and Francis (nee Stringer) Mallernee on Nov.
9, 1925, in Adena, Ohio.  They preceded her in death. Cindy
graduated from Cadiz High School in 1943. Cindy left home right out
of high school and worked several jobs including factory work
supporting the war effort in World War II.  Later Cindy held a
professional position at Friden Corp. in the 1950s.

She was married to Price Harley on June 17, 1961, and they made a
home together in Aurora, Ohio, before moving to Mequon in 1972.
Price and Cindy celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this year.
Cindy was also a library aide in the Mequon-Thiensville School
District for over 10 years and was passionate about making a
difference in the lives of children. Cindy was an avid dog lover,
having several dogs over her lifetime that she loved dearly. Closest
to her heart was her dog, Mandy, and they were inseparable until
Mandy’s passing. We are happy that they are together again in heaven.
Cindy is survived by her husband, Price; and her three sons, David
(Anne) Harley of Mequon, Dan Harley of Milwaukee and Peter Harley of
West Bend; and by her sister, Jeanne Scheu of Vero Beach, Fla. She is
also survived by two grandchildren, Emily Harley and Jennifer Harley,
as well as numerous nieces and nephews and their children.

Memorials can be made to the Wisconsin Humane Society. A private
family ceremony will be held at Wisconsin Memorial Park.  Condolences
may be extended online at Schmidt &
