Ethel T. Groth, 84

Ethel T. Groth (nee Miller), 84 of West Bend died on Tuesday, June 7, 2011, at the Kathy Hospice. She was born on Oct. 15, 1926, in Theresa to the late Joseph and Marjorie (nee Gorman) Miller.

As a young child, the family moved to West Bend. She attended Holy Angels Grade School, and graduated with the class of 1944 from West Bend High School.

She then started working at the West Bend Company. She was first employed as a secretary, and then held the position of administrative assistant. At the time of her retirement in 2000, she was the longest working employee the West Bend Company ever had, working for over 57 years. She was the secretary to President Bill Davis and Executive Vice Presidents Bill Davis and Cliff Nelson.

On June 13, 1953, she was united in marriage to Carl B. Groth. Together they took 21 vacations to international destinations.

As a member of the International Association of Administrative Assistants, she served as president for many years and was the bulletin chairperson for the Wisconsin Division of the I.A.A.A. She also was a member of the 25 Year Club at the West Bend Company and Holy Angels Parish.

Survivors include her husband Carl; two sisters Edith (Donald) Koerble of Long Lake and Pearl (Darwin) Juech of Little Green Lake; one sister-in-law Lillian Miller of West Bend; one brother-in-law Dr. Leo Groth of Madison; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter Kathleen Mary in infancy and one brother Joseph Miller.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, June 10, at 11 a.m. at Holy Angels Catholic Church with burial following in the church cemetery. Visitation will be at the church only on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. Masses or memorials to the Holy Angels School Trust Fund are appreciated.
