Jean O. (nee Witzig) Davies, 85, passed away on Monday, May 23, 2011. She was born in Black River Falls on Nov. 9, 1925, the daughter of Edward and Clara Witzig. Jean married Lloyd Davies in June 1947. He preceded her in death in 1991.

Jean has touched the lives of many through her love of music, both as a performer and as a music teacher in the Waukesha public school system for over 25 years. Jean and Lloyd were founding members of Southminster Presbyterian Church in Waukesha.

Jean is survived by four children: Barbara Davies, West Bend; Beth (Greg) Anderson, Denver, Colo.; Bryn (Stephen) Wehrwein, Laona, Wis.; Roberta (John) Dorgan, Oshkosh; seven grandchildren: Kaaren (Bill) Adams; Whitney Anderson; Mackenzie Anderson; Elizabeth Wehrwein; Megan Wehrwein; Briana Dorgan; Nathan Dorgan; and one great-grandchild: Jaidyn.

A private family service will be held in Laona at a later date. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Parkview Health Care Center, the staff at Aurora Hospital and Medical Center, and especially to Dr. Eric Duwell and his staff.

Jean will be remembered for her love of family, animals of all kinds, and life at the family cabin on Silver Lake in Laona.
