Ada Kannenberg, 96


Ada Kannenberg (nee Nantke), 96, passed away Saturday, June 11, 2011, at Sterling House in Neenah.

Ada was born Aug. 1, 1914, in Renville, Minn.

After graduation from Dr. Martin Luther College in New Ulm, Minn., she taught school at St. Johnís Lutheran School in West Bend.

On Aug. 18, 1940, she married Arnold Kannenberg at St. Matthewís Lutheran Church in Renville, Minn. Arnold preceded her in death on June 6, 2003.

Together they owned and operated City Bakery in West Bend for 35 years. After selling the bakery, Ada worked at Alice Flower Shop for many years.

Ada is survived by her very loving family including her daughter, Karen (Karl) Grabowski of St. Germain; and 2 sons, Tim (Chris) of Malone and Gary (Julie) of Siren. She is also survived by her eight grandchildren, Traci (Ken) Simington of Neenah, Chad (Jenny) Dorschner of Muskego, Katie Kannenberg of Fond du Lac, Sarah Kannenberg of San Diego, Calif., Amy (Joe) Tradewell of Port Washington, David and Matthew Kannenberg of Malone and Laurel Kannenberg of Siren; five great - grandchildren , Nathan and Heather Simington of Neenah, Dylan and Madison Dorschner of Muskego and Lily Tradewell of Port Washington; a brother-in-law, Eldor (Becky) Kannenberg of West Bend; and nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 15, at 11 a.m. at St. Johnís Lutheran Church in West Bend. Interment will follow in Washington County Memorial Park. Visitation will be Wednesday at the church only from 10 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. Memorials to St. Johnís Lutheran Church in West Bend or Trinity Lutheran Church in Neenah are appreciated.
