Frances E. Brath-Schmidt, 93

Frances E. Brath-Schmidt (nee Fleischman), 93, of West Bend, died on Sunday, June 19, 2011, at St. Joseph's Hospital.

She was born on April 28, 1918, in the town of Ashford to the late John and Anna (nee Thelen) Fleischman.

On April 20, 1937, she was united in marriage to George Brath at St. Martinís Church in Ashford. Together, they farmed in the town of Wayne area until Georgeís death on July 12, 1970.

After her marriage to Raymond Schmidt on May 18, 1981, she settled in West Bend. Raymond predeceased Dec. 28, 2000.

She was a member of the Young At Heart Club.

Survivors include seven children, The Rev. John Brath of Ozark, Mo., Janet (Robert) Melzer of St. Killian, Donald (Dorothy) Brath of West Bend, Karl (Marilyn) Brath of Campbellsport, Karen (Harlu) Keller of Campbellsport, Kenneth Brath of Mequon and Allen (Jane) Brath of West Bend; a step-daughter, Kathleen (Don) Malzahn of Crandon; 18 grandchildren; four step grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Anna Mae Brath; a brother, John Fleischman Jr.; and a stepson, Richard Schmidt.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, June 22, at 6:30 p.m. at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church. Burial will be Thursday at 9:30 a.m. in St. Anthony Cemetery in St. Anthony. Visitation will be at the church only on Wednesday from 4 p.m. until 6:15 p.m.
