Cora C. Koenen, 92, of Fond du Lac formerly of New Holstein died Friday, June 24, 2011, at her residence.
The former Cora Wiesner was born July 25, 1918, on her parents' farm to the late Anton and Katherine (nee Kral) Wiesner. On May 3, 1941, she married Jacob A. Koenen at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Barton. Jacob preceded her in death on March 8, 2003.
The couple farmed in the Kewaskum area and later on owned and operated the Hamilton Bar South of Fond du Lac. Cora had worked at Tecumseh Engine Products in New Holstein until her retirement.
Survivors include her son, William A. (Sharon) Koenen of Waupun and her daughter, Arlene (Robert) Gellings of Campbellsport; four grandsons; four great-grandsons; and a great-granddaughter.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Jacob; four brothers; and eight sisters.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 30, 2011, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 331 Main St. in Kewaskum. The Rev. Jerome Rinzel will officiate. Burial will be in the Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery in Kewaskum.
Family and friends may call at Holy Trinity Catholic Church on Wednesday, June 29th from 5 to 7 p.m. and again at the church Thursday morning from 9 a.m. until the time of services.
