Cyril J. Westerman, 93


Cyril J. Westerman, 93, of West Bend, died Wednesday, March 2, 2011, at Columbia St. Mary’s Hospital in Milwaukee.

He was born March 23, 1917, in the town of Kewaskum to the late Edward and Alvina (nee Wahlen) Westerman and married Priscilla E. Hartmann on July 27, 1946, at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Nenno. Priscilla preceded him in death on April 6, 2009.

Cy proudly served his country during World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps. He was a member of the Lt. Ray Dickop Post 36 American Legion in West Bend.

Cy and Priscilla built and operated the West Bend Motel and Moraine Supper Club in West Bend for many years. He also worked for East Central Breeders in Waupun for over 35 years.

In retirement, Cy and Pris enjoyed camping with their family and friends and showing up unexpectedly at friends and relatives homes throughout the country with their RV.

He is survived by his son, Robert (Nora) of Slinger; two granddaughters, Stefanie (fiancé, Andrew Holland) Westerman of Washington, D.C., and Rachel (Jason) Loomans of West Bend; and his sister, Beulah Beisbier of West Bend. He is further survived by two sisters-in-law, Lilly Westerman of West Bend and Anita Hartmann of West Bend; his brother-inlaw, Joe (Beatrice) Mueller of Campbellsport; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Cy was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Alvina Westerman; his wife, Priscilla Westerman; his son, Frederick; his sister, Florence (Roman) Hartmann; his brother, Harold Westerman; three brothers-in-law, Byron Beisbier, Edmund Hartmann and Norbert (Esther) Hartmann; and his sister-in-law, Arlene Mueller.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held Saturday, March 5, at 2 p.m. at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church in West Bend with the Rev. Jeffrey Haines presiding. Burial will be Monday in Holy Angels Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday, at the church only from 12:30 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. Memorials to the Interfaith Caregivers of Washington County are appreciated.
