Thomas F. Penkoske, 46
Thomas F. Penkoske, 46, of Mayville, died Thursday, March 3, 2011, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Tom was born Jan. 6, 1965, the son of George and Ruth Gassner Penkoske. He was a Mayville resident for his entire life, graduating from Mayville High School in 1984. Tom was a great athlete, playing football and basketball and was a part of the 1982 state championship basketball team. He enjoyed working with his hands and was an accomplished auto detailer. Tom was an avid Packer fan and enjoyed having many friends over to watch the game in the "man house." Tom also enjoyed riding his Harley with friends and taking many trips around the country. More than anything, Tom really enjoyed being with his friends and neighbors around the campfire.
Tom is survived by two brothers, Don (Jean) Penkoske of West Bend and John Penkoske of Fox Lake; his dedicated girlfriend, Clarissa Schattschneider of Mayville; and a niece, Jennifer (Scott) Schepp of West Bend.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, George and Ruth Penkoske; and a nephew, Lance Penkoske.
A funeral mass for Thomas F. Penkoske will be held on Saturday, March 5, at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Mayville with the Rev. Tom Biersack officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Mayville. Friends and relatives may call on the family on Saturday at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be directed to The Kathy Hospice at St. Joseph’s Hospital in West Bend.
