Brenda J. Matter
Brenda J. Matter (nee Prill), 50, of Rubicon, passed away on Saturday, March 18, 2011.
She was born April 12, 1960, in Milwaukee, to Richard and Marlene Prill (nee Youngs). Brenda was united in marriage to James Matter on Sept. 9, 1989, at Pentecost Lutheran Church in Milwaukee.
Brenda worked at the Mineshaft Restaurant and Perc Place in Hartford. She loved life. She loved to dance. Her motto was dance first – think later. She was the one that would get everyone going. She enjoyed camping, hiking, fishing and swimming. She loved the cabin Up North and sharing it with her loved ones. She loved time together with family and friends. She loved her animals, dogs, cats, horses, goats and anything else there was. It seemed she would accumulate new dogs every week. Brenda was an outdoors person and loved the farm life. She loved her children and grandson dearly. She had an amazing talent for creating something out of nothing. Landscaping, painting, tiling, you name it she did it. She would take on any challenge without reservation.
Brenda is survived by her husband, James; their children, Jamie, Jacob, Bryan, Peter (Denise) and Chris (special friend, Sabrina); her sisters, Karen Prill, Diane Krueger, Kathryn Mather and Pamela Stone; her mother-in-law, Cleona Matter; her brother-in-law, Dan (Terri) Matter; and sister-in-law, Jill (Joel) Cohen. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her father-in-law, Herbert Matter.
Memorial funeral services for Brenda will be held Thursday, March 24, at 7 p.m. at the Shimon Funeral Home, 824 Union St., Hartford. Family will greet relatives and friends on Thursday from 5 p.m. until the time of 7 p.m. service.
