Eugene Theodore Konrath, 91, of Slinger, passed away Saturday, April 30, 2011, at Autumn Oaks.

He was born on May 10, 1919, in Slinger to Peter and Margaret (nee Friess) Konrath. He married Betty Jane (nee Borchert) on June 14, 1947, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church of Slinger.

Eugene was a second generation dairy farmer and later took over the family business. He hauled milk from the time he was 21 until he founded Konrath Bus Services Inc. in 1964. He was the owner/operator for 35 years. He enjoyed serving the Slinger community until he was 82. He loved playing Sheepshead, traveling and being with his family. He was also a member of Knight’s of Columbus, a Charter Member of Slinger/Allenton Rotary, and recognized as a Paul Harris Fellow for his dedication and many donations to the Rotary.

He is survived by his children, Linda Konrath of Slinger, Brian (Julie) of Woodland, Peter of Milwaukee, Susan (David) Tulbert of Germantown, Allen (Jill) Konrath of Florida and Julie (Kraig) Bahr of Slinger; seven grandchildren, Quita, Holly, Casey, Ericka, Kaitlin, Keith and Halie; two great-grandchildren; and sister, Marie Plouff of Albuquerque, N.M. He is further survived by special friends of the family, Donna, Fr. Gerald Hauser; his dearest friend, Helen; and nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Betty; son, Glenn; brother, Whitey Konrath; sisters, Isabelle Held, Adela Schulteis, Dorothy Staral and Margaret Zwirlein.

The Mass of Christian burial will be on Friday, May 6, at 7 p.m. at St. Peter’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Richard Stoffel presiding. Visitation will be Friday, May 6, from 3 p.m. until time of Mass. Interment will take place at New St. Peter’s Cemetery in Slinger on Saturday, May 7, at 10 a.m.
