Richard M. Pontow, 74

Richard M. Pontow, 74, was passed to Eternal Life Thursday, May 5, 2011, following a short but valiant battle with cancer with his loving family at his side.

Dick especially enjoyed the time he spent with his father-in-law going to Packer games during their “glory days.” He had always looked forward to turkey and deer hunting with his brothers, pals and son-in-law. Since moving to Hartford he has made many friends in the early morning workout group at Aurora as well as the Men’s Breakfast and Wednesday night “high-stakes” card game at the Sunnyslope Community Building. Dick retired from Quad Graphics in January of 2000, and enjoyed his years in the printing industry. He leaves behind many coworkers who became dear friends. Dick was a member of St. Kilian Parish in Hartford.

Dick will be sadly missed by his wife of 47 years, Barbara (nee Thomas); his daughter and son-in-law, Susan (Michael) Senger; his granddaughters, Danielle and Nicole Senger. He is also survived by his brothers, Ted (Sylvia) Pontow and Tim (Jean) Pontow, both of Appleton; his b ro t h e r- i n - l aw, Robert (Janice) Thomas; sister-in-law, Cynthia (Tom) Thompson; and his nieces, nephews and many friends.

Dick was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore and Leone (nee Sedarski) Pontow; his brother, Robert Pontow; his sister-in-law, Teresa Pontow; and his father and mother-in-law, John and Otilia Thomas.
Visitation is Monday May 9, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at St. Kilian Catholic Church, 264 W. State St., Hartford. Mass of Resurrection will follow at 11:30 a.m. Interment at St. Kilian Cemetery.
