Alpha E. ‘Putty’ Dobson, 91
Alpha
E. "Putty" Dobson (nee Hammer), 91, of West Bend, passed away on
Sunday May 8, 2011, at Virginia Highlands in Germantown.
She was born on May 20, 1919, in Milwaukee to the
late Erv and Alpha (nee Will) Hammer Sr. On March 13, 1945, she was united
in marriage to Robert E. Dobson in Milwaukee. Robert preceded her in death
on Feb. 13, 1980.
Putty worked as a meat packer for Fancy Frozen
Foods in Milwaukee, retiring in 1971. Upon moving from Milwaukee to West
Bend in 1976, Putty began working as a caregiver for the Aaron Johnson
family and later for others.
Putty is survived by her son, Robert E. (Candace)
Dobson Jr. of Slinger; two grandchildren, Robert E. (Megan) Dobson III of
Raymond and Anthony (Michele) Dobson of Slinger; two great-grandchildren,
Joshua and Jackson Dobson; sister, Violet Diedrich of Milwaukee; other
relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband;
great-grandson, Brendan Dobson; three sisters, Bernice Lilland,
Ione Petraszko and Doris Cook; and one brother, Erv Hammer Jr.
In honor of Alpha’s wishes, a private family
service will be held in Washington County Memorial Park.
