Clara M. Kempf, 99
Clara M. Kempf, 99, a lifelong resident of the Beechwood area, passed away on Sunday, May 15, 2011, at Beechwood Rest Home in Beechwood.
She was born on March 20, 1912, in Beechwood, the daughter of the late Frank and Ida (nee Holtz) Bartel, and on Nov. 25, 1933, she was united in marriage to Frederick Kempf at Immanuel Lutheran Church in the town of Scott. The couple made their home and farmed in the town of Scott for many years. Frederick preceded Clara in death on Feb. 15, 1995.
Clara was a very nurturing person who took care of her siblings and later helped care for her grandchildren. She worked hard during her lifetime, and she was a pillar in the small community of Beechwood, and she knew the history and people who resided there. Clara was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in the town of Scott and the Ladies Aid.
Those Clara leaves behind to cherish her memory include her son, Russell (Betty) Kempf of Beechwood; a daughter-inlaw, Darlis Kempf of Beechwood; six grandchildren, Perry (Wendy) Kempf, Peggy (Dale) Stange, Robin (Charmaine) Kempf, Beth (Kurt) Sondrol, Wayne (Jackie) Kempf and Debi Prom; a brother, Marlin (Martha) Bartel of Sheboygan; 12 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, Clara was preceded in death by a son, Delmar Kempf; a great-granddaughter, Kailey Kempf; five brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services for Clara will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, May 18, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in the town of Scott. The Rev. Kurt Ziemann will officiate and burial will follow in the church cemetery. Relatives and friends may call on Wednesday at the church from noon until the time of services.
