John ‘Jack’ Gremminger, 86
John
L. "Jack" Gremminger, 86, passed away on May 17, 2011, at Kathy
Hospice of West Bend.
He was born in Fond du Lac and raised in
Campbellsport. After schooling, he entered the Merchant Marines during
World War II and later the U.S. Coast Guard. He returned home and worked
in Milwaukee for several years, then began his career as a meat cutter at
A&P Food Store in Menomonee Falls in 1948. He worked there for 34
years and then worked for Hansen’s in Slinger and Richfield until his
retirement in 1990. He loved fishing, playing his guitar and especially
loved spending time with his family. Jack was a member of St. Mary’s in
Barton and the Meat Cutter’s Union.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy (nee Martin);
children, John Paul (Dee C.) of North Fond du Lac, LeeAnn (Brian) Reindl
of Howards Grove and Andrew (Ronna) of Sheboygan; seven grandchildren,
Tessa (Jason) Stoeger, Patricia (Christopher) Reed, Kathryn (Micah)
Marshall, Abigail Lockwood, Jayson, Rachel and David Gremminger; six
great-grandchildren; two sisters, Nancy Carr and Georgia (Duane) Petersen;
and a sister-in-law, Patricia Gremminger. He is further survived by
sisters in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and
friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Leo and
Esther (nee Beyer); and a brother, Neal Gremminger.
The memorial Mass will be on Saturday, May 21, at
noon at St. Mary’s Catholic Parish in Barton with the Rev. Mike Moran
presiding. The Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of
Mass, also at the church. Interment of cremains will take place at (New)
St. Mary’s Cemetery.
Memorials to Albrecht Free Clinic, Kathy Hospice,
or St. Mary’s Catholic Church would be appreciated.
